Protagonist Profile: Jillian Peters

Jillian, or Jill, as she prefers, is an only child born into a two-parent home. Her mother and father tried to keep their marriage together, but ended up divorcing when Jill was four. Two years after her parents divorced her mother met another man with two kids. They married a year and a half later. Jill and her step father tolerated each other at best. By the time Jill was in going into fourth grade her step father had convinced her mother to move to New Jersey so that he could be closer to his kids, and Jill could have the siblings she thought she so desperately needed. After four years of a tenuous family situation Jillâs mother divorced her second husband, and moved herself and Jill back to Pennsylvania.

Jill attended high school, and graduated at age eighteen with a 3.0 GPA. She attended a community college for two years, and earned her associates in psychology. She moved on to Penn State University to earn her bachelorâs in general psychology.

While she was at Penn State she met her first true love, Luke Matthews. He was an English major who introduced her to poetry. Every time they were together he would read her a sweet love poem, and then they would spen the next few hours cuddling and discussing their future. Luke planned to be a professor of poetry, and Jill was going to be a family counselor. Their plans changed after they graduated. Luke went off to study poetry in England, and Jill was accepted to the University of South Florida to earn her masterâs in counseling psychology.
