A metaphorical poem about the deeper feelings.
But I Cant
28 Lines

I bet you can see
What the world is like.
But I can’t,
The world is black to me.

I bet you can understand
Words others say.
But I can’t,
My brain doesn’t work that way.

I bet you can hear
The sounds of the world.
But I can’t,
I'm deaf, in both ears.

I bet you can imagine
Great new things.
But I can’t,
I only know what is told to me.

I bet you can tell
The world what you think.
But I can’t
Stop you from calling me
“blind”
“mentally retarded”
“deaf”
“stupid”

I bet you have friends
Those people who care.
But I can’t
Seem to find one.
