The truth is here at last
I admit I wasn't expecting this. All I wanted was a beer. And yet, once again here I am face to face with Andre. "Speed dating... really? Didn't we settle this yesterday? I guess you have changed your name to George!"

Shoulders slumping, Andre sat looking at me, a sad frown upon his face. "Look," he finally said. "I am as surprised as you are."

"Stop it. I thought you were going to introduce me to that waitress. You know? The one from the party."

"Are you going to make me beg you?"

"This is a joke, right? I was messing with you the other day before you two drugged me. Now..., what gives?"

Andre leaned forward, a resigned look on his face. "Ok, I am messing with you. She is a friend. Her name is Melissa. She has been burned many times and just wants to be sure of you."

"Then let's meet her! We can do it here, under your watchful eyes. No more games, ok?"

Andre stood, a satisfied look upon his face. "Very well, I will speak to her and let you know soon. She is still quite embarrassed about the debacle a Denny's."

"Sounds good. No more weird stuff ok? I might have to start calling you George after all."

Chuckling softly, Andre turned and walked toward the bar. "One draft for my friend here. Give him a shot of banana rum too. He deserves it."
Looking back and snapping a quick salute, Andre smiled and left.

There is something strange going on, Averren thought as the drinks were delivered to him. I will watch and wait. Picking up the shot, he downed it before picking up his beer.
