This is my grade 9 poem I made on the first day of school. Please leave a review.
I am only just a child,
I wonder when the world will get better? When will things go back to normal?
I hear loud sirens of police cruisers and fire trucks pass by my neighborhood,
I see the bright flashing lights of red and blue,
I want to see a change in the world.

I am only just a child,
I pretend everything is okay,
I feel worried for the future,
I touch the soft comfort of my childhood blanket. The only thing that can keep me safe,
I worry for the world,
I often cry when things are rough.

I am only just a child,
I understand that there is no better world,
I say to myself I need to make the world a better place,
I dream of the future to come when I am old enough to understand,
I hope I can live to see love and peace.

I am only just a child.
