A poem written after a bad day with the kids.
What a day I’ve had
And I thought yesterday was bad,
The kids are sick
The cats left home,
My washer blew up
His mum’s on the phone
Six more days
To put up with this
And then it will be Sunday.

What a day I’ve had
And I thought yesterday was bad,
The milk was sour
For my morning tea
No one ever bothers
To listen to me.
Five more days
To put up with this,
And then it will be Sunday.

What a day I’ve had
And I thought yesterday was bad,
The bathroom door fell off,
When I wanted to soak,
Just wanted some peace,
What a joke.
Four more days
To put up with this,
And then it will be Sunday.

What a day I’ve had
And I thought yesterday was bad,
My sister turned up
With all her brood,
Wants to stop,
I’m not in the mood.
Three more days
To put up with this,
And then it will be Sunday.

What a day I’ve had
And I thought yesterday was bad,
The house is a wreck,
The car just died.
This place is so noisy
I just want to hide.
Two more days
To put up with this,
And then it will be Sunday

What a day I’ve had
And I thought yesterday was bad,
Shopping to do,
Daren’t look at the cost,
Buy some new shoes
Because the old ones got lost.
One more days
To put up with this,
And then it will be Sunday

What a day I’ve had
And I thought yesterday was bad,
Dinner to cook,
Floor to shine,
Not a moment to call mine
Kids to bath,
Make time to sweep
The garden path,
Cut the lawn,
Mend the fence,
Must warn the kids
Not a peep
About the words
I yelled last night,
After yet another fight.
I hate Sundays.
