The definition of Parapsychology and my reflections on paranormal activity
Notes on Parapsychology

Merriam-Webster's 11th Collegiate Dictionary gives the definition of parapsychology as: A field of study concerned with the investigation of evidence for paranormal psychological phenomena. (telepathy, clairvoyance and psycho kinesis).

One synonym is supernatural. The departing from what is normal especially so as to appear to transcend the laws of nature.

Parapsychology of South Louisiana:

South Louisiana's history is teeming with stories of magic used to impose the will of one person over another.

Once it was evildoers who would for a fee, or for the ghoulish joy place an evil spell on someone, designed to give that person any illness from a common cold to Cancer. Sometimes the evildoer would place a reversing spell on the victim making them well again. But, the days of those expensive spells are falling by the wayside as purchasers of these evil deeds became fewer and fewer. Some say they died out, as they became victims of their victims.

The time came when the magic of the mind became the music of love. When both of the parties felt the same magic, the music was a beautiful duet. But, when the two parties did not respond to the same magic, the result was a discordant clammor.

This was beautiful music only to the ears of the makers of the gric grics (charms or spells) of love. One would ensure the return of the person's love. One would eliminate the love of an unwanted suitor. This sometimes sent both parties back for the opposite gric gric of their original purchase.

These gric gric (both good and evil) are usually love charms that guarantee the return of the purchaser"s love.

But, they are sometimes a hex or curse used to harm or hinder a rival or an enemy. Readily available, for a fee, from a myriad of individuals, men and women of all races who claim to have various mystical powers. Those desiring an advantage over their victim often carry the charms in a small bag.

They are frequently a small packet of secret magical ingredients to be added to the drink or food of the chosen one. These are love or good luck potions.

Those gric grics used for hexes or evil are generally too large or complicated to be put in the food of the victim and would possibly show up as a poison in the victim's system.

There are three types of purveyors of this magic. Fortune tellers who use many ways to foretell the future, voo doo practitioners who claim powers of both good and evil and who do practitioners who perform only good luck, healing and love charms.
