Dreams can be real, so can knights.
Let’s fly again

Slipping through the doorway from her office the woman let out a screech of surprise. Panic filled her senses as she stared at the scene before her. Her green eyes expanded in fear as she watched a silver dragon descend at a rapid speed with a knight riding on its back.

She stood mesmerized as the knight looked her way beckoning to her to step out further.

“Me?” she mouthed towards him not quite able to speak.

He beckoned again as the dragon swooped by the doorway his arm outstretched towards her.

Attempting to step backwards out of the way she found instead that his arm had circled her waist as the door jam evaporated. Jerked from her feet she found herself thrust against the knight.

“Let me down! Now!” she yelled at him.

The knight turned his head looking into her green eyes his mustache tickling against her face as his lips twitched in mirth.

“I think not. There is no way I will let you go my maiden. You belong to me now,” he chuckled softly.

The woman looked down and gasped as she saw the ground below turn into a miniature field full of trees and mountains.

“But…but I must get back to work. My job…oh gods…my job.” Gasping to control her breath she focused back on the knight. His brown eyes twinkled as he continued to stare at her.

The scales of the dragon itched against her legs as her dress flew up behind her. “Please…please take me back. You’re not real,” she whispered.

“Oh, I’m real.” This time he brushed his lips against her neck as he pulled her up and placed her in front of him.

The feel of his lips were like burning coals. Her skin felt as if it were on fire. Shivering with a multitude of emotions she tired to push away only to be clasped closer.

She stared down again as white wisps of cotton clouds enveloped them.

“Noo, you can’t be,” she murmured, “there are no knights in this day and age.”

“Ah, but you are wrong. You had a dream, right? Well, it is time for your dream to be a reality.” He again brushed his lips against the nape of her neck, “Don’t I feel real?” he whispered in her ear.

Goose bumps traversed down her neck and shoulders from the knight’s breath as he spoke. Feeling the silver dragon once again circling in the clouds she noticed that it was making a headlong decent towards a small cottage surrounded by old growth trees. She wrapped her arms around the knight’s neck closing her eyes as the wind tore through her hair. She laid her head against his chest in fear only to hear his heart beating as fast as hers.

She kept her eyes closed as she felt a slight jerk as the dragon landed, her body jolted against his…then nothing.

Moments passed as she fought her way through the darkness. Stirring she felt a pair of strong arms holding her, then she remembered the knight and hearing his heart beating in rhythm with hers.

Slowly she opened her eyes and found twinkling brown ones filled with amusement looking into hers.

“My dear who in the hell is Drake? You’ve been calling out his name in your…sleep.”

Snuggling close to the man, “Mmm, he’s my knight love. He’s my knight,” she whispered then sat straight up in bed and looked around the room. There on the shelf of her dresser sat a little silver dragon. Looking down at the man next to her she blushed.

“It’s you my love…Drake is you.” Lying back down she snuggled into his arms. “Now shush, I’ve got to go to work tomorrow and you’ve a story to finish. And sweetheart,” she giggled seductively, “that was some ride…”

Sighing contentedly she sought his lips, “Let’s fly again.”
