Summary of this DVD...
God works in mysterious ways. Two brothers, Connor and Murphy McManus feel that God is working through them to make South Boston a better place. The brothers aim to get rid of mafiosos, criminals, and other lowlife scum. Agent Smecker, who works for the FBI, must now go through an inner battle against his feelings towards these brothers and what they are doing for mankind.
This type of DVD is good for...
Whether you are religious or not, you'll like this movie. It expresses both opinions towards the brothers, whether you like them or not. There's a lot of action, some deep thinking, and a few surprises along the way.
I especially liked...
The way this movie was done. It has a special structure of showing the crime scene, guessing what happened, and then showing what actually happened. The further you get into this movie, the closer the flashbacks run together. It's amazing to watch.
I didn't like...
There was nothing about this movie that I didn't like. It's my all time favorite.
When I finished viewing this DVD I wanted to...
Smoke and eat pizza, but that's something I do anyway.
The cast of this DVD...
Sean Patrick Flanery and Norman Reedus make the perfect "bad guys." There's none better that I could think of to play the brothers. This is Willem Dafoe's best role since Reservoir Dogs. He really went all out for the part of Agent Smecker.
I recommend this DVD because...
It's good and it's an Independent film. This is Troy Duffy's only movie so far, (he's currently working on a sequel). But it's one of the most well done movies I've ever seen.
Further Comments...
The Boondock Saints was suppose to come out in theaters. But it never did because of the Columbine incident. However, it became an instant cult favorite, bringing in a ton of money for the directors and cast due to DVD sales. Why do you think they're making the second movie?
