Summary of this CDs & Vinyl...
This May, Alanis Morissette released her first album in two years, "So-Called Chaos." Though it's a small stretch from her old style of music (a la, Jagged Little Pill) Alanis comes back with a reassuring splash and an album that is truly worth listening.
This type of CDs & Vinyl is good for...
Since the songs convey such different moods, I'll tell you song by song.
"Eight Easy Steps" - An extremely good song to play in your car or jump around to. It's upbeat and very fun, and everyone would enjoy it.
"Out is Through" - I usually play this song in the background whenever I'm reading a book or writing. It's well-lyricized, and the tune is incredible. A very fun, yet sad song.
"Excuses" - Basically the same as "Out is Through," yet a little more melancholy - but still upbeat.
"Doth I Protest Too Much" - First of all I love the way she uses Shakespeare references. Second, this song is an exemplary breakup song. So if you're down, this'll make you a bit on the brighter side.
"Knees of my Bees" - Probably the best song on the whole CD. This Indian-spiced medley is fun and funky, and Alanis combines American rock music with the entrancing sounds of the Indian sitar. It's a good song for ANYTHING, really.
"So-Called Chaos" - The album's title track is best for cruising along in a convertable, or even playing whilst doing yoga. It's not a New Age-y, calming track at all, but it makes you feel free and relaxed.
"Not All Me" - Car song, 'nuff said.
"This Grudge" - ...is a work of musical art. It's also a wonderful song for breakups and I strongly recommend it to anyone in the dust.
"Spineless" - Such a wonderful song, but you really have to wait until the chorus kicks in to actually admire it. It's definitely something for good-moody days.
"Everything" - Most of you that are thinking of buying this CD have probably heard "Everything" and know, by now, that it's just a song to listen to when you're thinking "THANK YOU!"
I especially liked...
The use of the sitar on "Knees of my Bees" was amazing. I love how it's combined two cultures' music styles into one astounding song.
I didn't like...
Well, there are only ten tracks!
When I finished n/a this CDs & Vinyl I wanted to...
I just wanted to get up and do yoga, or jump around and be crazy - just pretty much express myself in any way possible. It's inspiring stuff, it really is.
This CDs & Vinyl made me feel...
See above answer. ^.^
The n/a of this CDs & Vinyl...
Alanis Morissette is truly one of my favorite artists of all time. She cleaned up her voice and her act for her junior album and it couldn't sound better! Thanks to her, this album is an original work of art, and I commend her for taking this step.
I recommend this CDs & Vinyl because...
It's just incredible, it really is. All of the songs are catchy - really, I think we all know what it's like to have a CD and then skip certain songs because they're not as good as the hit singles. Well, SCC is NOT like that. All of the songs just blew me away.
