Summary of this Book...
This book is perfect for anyone writing mystery book, or any book where you might poison a character. Not only does it describe real poisons, but it teaches you how to create your own believable poisons. This book teaches you the symptoms of a poisoning and even how long a victim has to get help. It's extremely useful information and I would recomend it to anyone over thirteen.
This type of Book is good for...
Anyone who had poisons, or poisonings in their stories or poems, or even people doing research papers.
I especially liked...
The way the poisons are listed is useful. It is laid out so you can write your scene and then find the poison that works best instead of having to read through every one and then write your scene. I love books like this, where they do not force you to change your story, they help you improve your existing one.
I didn't like...
There wasn't really anything I did not like.
When I finished reading this Book I wanted to...
Write a mystery novel with real and fake poisons.
This Book made me feel...
A little scared at first, then knowledgable and more confident in my own writing.
The author of this Book...
Is educated and tallented in delivery descriptions that are useful for book authors and screenwriters.
I recommend this Book because...
Of it's usefulness and practicality.
Further Comments...
This book will not make you a chemist, it just tells the symptoms of real poisons. I've given the author a 3 in writing style because the author admits to "dumbing down" the language and I thought that was tactless. Why not just use common language and put in a little note that you have not alwys used strict medical termonology? Anyway, it's just my pet peeve when people feel the need to talk down to their readers. The length of the book is only a 4 because it isnot the end all for poisons, just lists a great deal of them.
