This story is based upon two women from our early American history: The Gimke Sisters. They were very strong women who stood up for themselves and their beliefs. The events in the book are fictionalized, but presented a very clear and interesting picture of The South.

Women interested in the history of the South in the United States.
I especially liked...
This was a good look into Southern culture and the various religions that were practiced at the time.
I didn't like...
This book is very violent and at times I wasn't really prepared for that.
I recommend this Book because...
The book is based on true characters from our American History. It certainly is a tale of struggle and redemption.
