Summary of this Book...
The story takes place during the 2nd world war and the hard times of Jews in Germany .since the very first page I could see that death was written all over this book, as it was from the World War2 and having been narrated by death itself. Death tells the tale about a little girl leisel meminger who changed her family to survive but lost all of it with no one left for her till the end of the book. The book is about true love the family love, true love for the ones gone to the war, the love for the ones who remind someone of the ones who are dead, it is a story of fun which can happen in any possible way, it is a story of respect which can be earned by a little humanity in anyone’s heart it is a story of luck education and friendship.
This type of Book is good for...
its a book for people seeking peace, are sentimental, whom like history(a bit)
and tose having a strong heart
I especially liked...
I loved the entire way the book was written to the 1st word on the 1st page to the last line “I am haunted by humans”, as said by death itself the best part was how the writer got such a creative idea to get this magnificent book narrated by the dark death itself that is one of the most catchy things
I didn't like...
cannot say what I didn’t like about the book as it was in itself so osm that I can take out the flaws. During the last 2 chapters I broke down completely I had expected something like this to happen but the pain was too much to take in. I cried at the deaths and that’s one thing I like and dislike about such sensitive books they make you cry and love them at the same time. I like them because they get so attached to the heart the characters and everything else and dislike it because in the end the character says goodbye to the world and leaves a hole, an empty space in the heart. I know this is not a flaw of the book but a real rare quality but it’s something that itches me but I love it!!!
When I finished reading this Book I wanted to...
cry seriously :)
This Book made me feel...
like the authors r the worst and the best people
worst- they bring so many deaths
best -be coz they make you fall in love with the characters and the story itself
Further Comments...
Hats off to such a creative piece of work
Sometimes while reading I almost forgot that it’s written by a human it really did feel like as if death itself was narrating the story to me. A very amazing work done my mark.
The title of the book is catchy and the perfect name for the book I cannot think of anything better (apparently).leisel is a book thief and it seriously does not pain me to say that I mean just look at the 1st book that she brought with her self a grave diggers manual. But then the steeling gets bigger and more often it entwines with friendship, a little music many secrets and love.
. Leisel was a great character, and did a great role in the book. The book was especially flawless for the effective touch of words. Notonly did the words helpleisel fall in love with her new abode but also me the reader fall deeply in love and when Himmel Street the heaven became a hell I was obvious to cry. Many times while reading I actually felt like killing Hitler at very that moment but it’s all gone away way in the past and the world has moved on still with the fears and stories of that horrible time. So I can call this story an amazing memory.it will certainly leave a mark on all hearts that read it.
In short a splendid book to become your favorite with laughter, fun, anger, love and death!!!
