Summary of this Book...
The main character is stuck in her home due to an affliction with agoraphobia - the fear of the outdoors. As the story unfolds we learn where this affliction stems from, but I will not give that part of the story away except to say that it is well executed. I will say that some aspects had me curious as to why her husband and daughter don't live with her... they are in the city, while she stays in their Connecticut home. They talk regularly.
Because she is confined to her house she spends a great deal of time watching her neighbours. Before her confinement she was a respected therapist and she continues this work online each day on her computer. Her one main vice is her reliance on drinking too much wine.... and this is used against her when she claims to have seen someone murdered. The authorities don't believe her and even she has herself doubting the facts until she is able to unearth several intriguing facts. Again I will leave these facts in the dark and just say that this novel is worthy of reading. I may just have to read it again to see how the author has accomplished the unfolding of her tale.
Goodreads claims - "What is real? What is imagined? Who is in danger? Who is in control? In this diabolically gripping thriller, no one—and nothing—is what it seems - and I most certainly agree.
This type of Book is good for...
Those who enjoy gripping suspense thrillers
I especially liked...
How the author unfolded the story over the course of the tale. The reader is left questioning the main characters sanity and her story, just as the main charactr is.
When I finished reading this Book I wanted to...
Reread the book to see where and how the author created such a dramatic story.
This Book made me feel...
Unsettled, but in a good way. I needed to know what was going on and I felt for the main character, Anna Fox.
The author of this Book...
Has written a compelling tale with genuine characters and a gripping tale.
I recommend this Book because...
It was a great read.
Further Comments...
Woman In The Window by A.J. Finn
This was a novel chosen for me by the Rising Stars book club. I was supposed to have read it last fall and though I started it, I had to put it aside for NaNoWriMo and then slowly went back to it. I was very glad that I did because it was quite a good read.
