Summary of this Book...
[Reviewers Note: This is the second book of the The Foundlings series. I highly recommend reading the first book, because this is a continuation.]

This book starts us off with a new serial killer, and adds more people into the story. It is set in the present, and the author does a good job getting details right. The story has a very strong story line about found children and DNA databases, which enhance it to create more than just another crime drama novel. Readers will also have to realize a third book is coming in 2020, so everything isn't tied up neatly at the end.
This type of Book is good for...
Readers who tend not to put books down for lengths of time. The novel has many characters, both major and minor, and some could be forgotten. Also, the second book adds a couple more locations, and there are rather abrupt transitions within chapters.
I especially liked...
This book, as opposed to the first, is set in modern times. It's always nice that the technology used, particularly when there is a major science component, is current. The crime aspect works well, and the killer well described, even though I found his demise a bit mundane.
I didn't like...
There is one major leap of faith that is quite difficult to believe. People meeting somewhere, seemingly at random, in a very odd location. I'm wondering if we don't find out something in the last book that explains it.

Also, not only do we have new characters, but old ones pop up from the first book. Along with several new locations and subplots, it was almost too much for me.

For example, one of the main protagonists, Amelia, is now married. From the start we're left to wonder if he's cheating. It was a sub-plot through the book I thought was superfluous.
When I finished reading this Book I wanted to...
Read the last one in the series, which is high praise for the story, but alas, it won't be out until 2020! I will probably at least re-read portions and skim through the first two books to remind myself of the characters.
This Book made me feel...
Introspective about my own adoption. However, I don't feel comfortable putting my DNA in a database, and probably never will.

I recommend this Book because...
It is well developed, both the people and the places where they live and visit. It's a nice novel for people who aren't "interrupted" when they read, and can keep up.
I don't recommend this Book because...
As mentioned, there are many characters in this novel, as well as several locations. It may be too much for some readers, especially as the many plots and sub-plots jump around quite quickly.
