Image for BCOF members to put in their blogs "Word Prompt:bucket, juggle, clammy, heaven, tease, delirious, rose, arrange. Use these words in your blog entry. Have fun."

God has put a big one in my bucket. I am to prophesy doom to the world and particularly to the United States. America is doing everything it can to juggle political correctness and inclusiveness and the morality in the country has gone to hell. If we ever truly want to make America great again we need to begin by inviting God back into everything we've thrown Him out of such as our schools, our text books, our pledge of allegiance, our statues, and most of all our hearts! Some of the stuff we do these days makes my skin clammy! We will fight heaven to include everybody but expect not to pay hell once we succeed! We tease and test God on a daily basis yet when calamity comes we refuse to take responsibility for it. Israel turned from God and went into exile as did Judah. Do we expect to be treated differently? We are delirious with our sin and drunk on the wine of debauchery! A rose by any other name is still a rose and sin is sin! The only way we can arrange to save ourselves is by putting Christ first!

Blog City image small Prompt: "Creation Saturday, let your inspiration sweep you away, have fun free writing.'

I really don't have anything creative to say. I guess I could be like a lot of my preacher colleagues and preach a prosperity gospel, telling people that they are just fine in their sin and debauchery because after all God loves them! Yes, God does indeed love all people but He hates sin! America has become the world leader in the production of sin! We murder millions of innocents each year in abortion clinics. We not only turn a blind eye to same sex couplings but are now promoting it! We have blurred the gender lines so badly that some poor souls don't even know what sex they are! Come on America! God condemned the nations of Israel and Judah, who were His chosen people, for similar sin! Do we expect to go unscathed? We will not go unscathed! We are on our last leg and don't even know we are sick! Wake up! Repent for the end is near!

Blog City image small Prompt: "Write a story or poem using this quote from Dylan as inspiration. Have fun!

“The crisp path through the field in this December snow, in the deep dark, where we trod the buried grass like ghosts on dry toast.”
― Dylan Thomas, Quite Early One Morning: Stories "

I've got finals this week plus I am sick so I doubt I'll be doing much writing. I just wanted to check in today as I prepare to study. I'll check out that story. I don't know that I will like it. I usually read science fiction, westerns, and the Bible but if I remember I will check it out.

Image for BCOF members to put in their blogs Prompt: "Discuss this quote in your blog entry.....“December's wintery breath is already clouding the pond, frosting the pane, obscuring summer's memory...” ― John Geddes, A Familiar Rain"

I would have to say the man is right. I live in southwest West Virginia and some of the ponds here are icing over. I would imagine that to the north it is even worse. This winter could shape up to be the worst one we've had in years. I'm not mentally prepared for winter. It seems like summer only lasted a week so I am still stuck on summer.

Image for BCOF members to put in their blogs Prompt: "In your life time how many Presidents have passed? Which man affected you the most? If you don't live here in the States, which leader]s passing affected you the most.? Why? Can you remember what you were doing when you heard the news?"

To be honest I don't know. Four I think but I honestly don't know. I don't follow politics all that closely. I always find out when a president dies because it disrupts my daily routine but aside from that I don't care. I mean I feel bad for their families because death is hard on anybody but I really don't know why the whole country has to shut down over it. Life goes on regardless and no president in the past half century has done anything dramatic so let's move on.

Blog City image small "Prompt: What Christmas commercials have touched your heart this year?"

None of them have touched my heart however all of them have made me sick to my stomach. Christmas is nothing more than a money making racket. Bah-humbug!

{image:1997652-25%} Prompt: "Use on of these seasonal quotes in your blog.
!. “A good conscience is a continual Christmas.” ―Benjamin Franklin
2. “Christmas isn’t a season. It’s a feeling.” ―Edna Ferber
3. “Christmas is a bridge. We need bridges as the river of time flows past. Today’s Christmas should mean creating happy hours for tomorrow and reliving those of yesterday.” ―Gladys Taber

I agree with Ben Franklin. "A good conscience is a continual Christmas." The reason I agree with him is because a good conscience is its own reward. We know we are loving others and obeying God's will if we have a good conscience. Jesus said that we are the light of the world. Sin does not like light and hides from the Light. Our clean conscience tells us we have done nothing that we need to hide.

I also agree with Ferber that "Christmas is not a season. It's a feeling. Christmas is usually a sickening feeling in the pit of my stomach to be quite honest. I always hope it ends quickly. I don't like Christmas because it is Satan's holiday. People try to say it is a Christian holiday but there is no authorization for it in scripture. It came about because Christians who were former pagans wanted to continue their traditional winter solstice feasts. Rather than tell them they were Christians the church developed Christ Mass and tried to give the winter solstice Christian trappings. It didn't work and the commercialism we have today is the result. You can't compromise with sin.

"Christmas is a bridge. We need bridges as the river of time flows past. Today’s Christmas should mean creating happy hours for tomorrow and reliving those of yesterday.”

This all sounds good in theory but what Christmas really means is spending money you don't have to buy gifts for people who come to expect them. It is a chance for merchants to make out like bandits and the criminals they are.

Blog City image small "Prompt: My Grown Up Christmas List By Kelly Clarkson What was on your Christmas List as a child? What is on your Christmas List as an adult? Do you wish you were a child at Christmas or are you happy with being an adult at Christmas?"

I am happy being an adult. I celebrate Christmas only because I have to. I don't have much choice since everybody around me celebrates some holiday. If you read my entry previously you know that I don't believe in Christmas. It is nothing more than paganism thinly disguised as a Christian holiday. I wish it was over.

Image for BCOF members to put in their blogs Prompt: "Use these random Christmas words in your blog: snowflakes, dolls, wrapping, paper, pine, sales, greetings, and celebrate. Have fun!"

You're making me use my brain already this morning! This could be a good thing though because I have a presentation and a final exam at school today so I need to wake up! At least it will be Christmas break soon. I just hope there are no snowflakes this year. I hate snow. Dolls I don't mind. I never played with them but I guess they have their purpose. I have noticed the shiny wrapping paper this year. The pine trees of course are my favorite because they are green year round. The sales of fir trees is up this year I think. I send everybody a Christmas greetings. Let's celebrate!

Blog City image small "Prompt: What would improve your hometown? Can you convince your town’s officials to make a change that would improve your neighborhood?"

I don't want to sound conceited but I think it would improve my hometown if I was back in it. The town I now call home is not and never will be my hometown. It's just the place I live. My hometown is 2 hours north of me and I miss it. I have often longed to go back but I know there is nothing there for me any more. Since my wife died everything has become bleak in my hometown. My son doesn't even live there anymore. So there's really nothing there for me but it will always be home.

Blog City image small "Prompt: Seneca said, “A great fortune is a great slavery.” What might such a great fortune be and do you agree with Seneca’s claim?"

The word of God says it is easier for a camel to go through a needle's eye than it is for a rich man to enter the kingdom of Heaven. Many misinterpret this to say it is impossible for a rich man to be saved since a camel would never pass through a needle's eye. However the eye of the needle in Jesus' time referred to a city gate that required the camels to be unloaded and to kneel to enter it. It was difficult but certainly not impossible. By the expression above found in Matthew 19: 24 and other New Testament passages Jesus was saying that riches would become a stumbling block for people. Therefore I agree with Seneca's statement. Riches or great fortune becomes slavery. Money rules.

Image for BCOF members to put in their blogs Prompt: "Do you prefer homemade gifts or store bought? Do you exchange food gifts? Clothing? Or Gift cards?"

I don't guess it makes much difference. I personally wish Christmas never came around. Call me a humbug but it is so commercialized it is sickening. I don't have money for it so people are lucky if they get anything from me.

Image for BCOF members to put in their blogs Prompt: "Use these random words in your blog entry. tablet, trainer, bee, adviser, drift and agreement".

I really don't know how to answer this prompt. My muse has gone on vacation so the creative side of me is not here. I have owned a tablet or two but never did become accustomed to them. They didn't have windows and that is about the only OS I ever cared for. Maybe I should have gotten a trainer to show me how to use it. I still don't think I would have won the spelling bee with them though. My adviser always told me not to get in over my head. I guess you get my drift as we once said. So I stand in agreement and use only my laptop.

Blog City image small Prompt: "On the first day of Christmas my true love gave to me a partridge in a pear tree" Let's talk about gift giving. What was the first gift you received from your spouse, boyfriend or girlfriend for Christmas? What did you give them? If you don't celebrate Christmas discuss the first gift you received or gave. Was the gift practical or whimsical?"

The very first gift I gave my late wife was an empty box. She had told me the whole Christmas season that she didn't want anything for Christmas and that if I gave her anything it should be a box of air. So I gift wrapped and empty box and placed it under the tree. (Of course I kept the real gift, a sapphire ring, hidden from her.) It was priceless watching her pick the empty box up all season to try to get a clue as to what was in it. She shook it. She weighed it. She even tried to peak under the wrapping and never did figure it out. She just kept saying that it had better be a box of air, which is what it was! When she finally did open it she just smiled and said it was "perfect".
I told her that if the empty box was perfect it meant I could return what I really got her and handed her the ring with her birthstone in it. She cried and it was indeed perfect.
