Wow, Wow, WOW! Y'know, I'm not sure what to say, so I'll say little. You don't need a man, but a roommate? Maybe. Too many unknowns about him. The language barrier, unless he learns English (you could teach him!), and/or you learn Spanish. You know very little about any of them, (I'm thinking of Juan or Winchel in my comments here. Estes is far too young.) You could get to know them, but would you really know them? Or would it be part of their persona, the part they want you to know. This is like 'The Dating Game' for you! My best advice? BE CAREFUL in every thing you do or say to or with one of them, or around them. You could play matchmaker of course, and set theme up with one of your friends!
So sorry. I’m way too literal for tongue-in-cheek advertisements, like that. Of course, every time you clock-in, you could say, “I am engaged in my work.” In Spanish, that would be something like, “Trabajo. No necesito marido.” (“I work. I don’t need a husband.”) 😂
I think it’s funny too. I’m not planning on marrying anyone especially that way. I’ll help them get their status the correct way. Plus, I wouldn’t marry a 19 year old in the first place… lol. I have to be attracted to the person and in love with them before I commit to marriage.
Okay, that's really funny, I'm sorry. I think the reason they say, you need spice in your life because you don't have anyone in your life. I think they are crazy to ask you that. Don't ever go into a relationship where you have to get a green card. That's rude on your boss's part.
The Spanish I know is limited to words like milk:leche, numbers one to ten. Pockito meaning little, grande meaning big, manaba meaning in the morning or tomorrow ( I think), hombre, muchacha/muchacho, And a handful of naughty words that probably nobody should say.
Somebody help me out here. I did some Louis La Lamour paperbacks, which were in Spanish, just to try and figure them out. A lot if words are similar to English.
Thank you, everyone. Sorry, it took me awhile to get back to you. I appreciate your input. I worked last night 4 hours and out of it I was talked to about an hour. The rest of the time they spoke Spanish. I wished that I spoke it as well, but I guess there’s a reason why I can’t retain it. It’s not like some have tried or lack on my part.
I’m on modifications by SSDI, under special circumstances. Due to my injury in 2013 I was forced into early retirement and was diagnosed with injuries that rendered me incapable of working long periods of time. In the meantime prices of things have skyrocketed and I’m needing to supplement my income to make ends meet. SS put restrictions on the wages, hours, and length of time that I’m allowed to work. Making it a trail basis to see if I’m eligible to return to work on a permanent basis. Making my trial period up November 12, 2022. I will be eligible to draw my full retirement in June 2023, he told me. I’m finding it a struggle for the most part. It’s strange I never thought I’d be here when I retired. I thought I’d be mountain climbing, camping, walking the beaches, dancing, and who knows what else… lol I love adventures and seeing all the history of this great nation of ours. Anyways, I wanted y’all to know I hadn’t forgotten to respond back. Love my Peeps ❤️
Unfortunately, what I notice lately is how employers aren't hiring enough workers, and then the ones who are working, like at Walmart, are expected to run all over the store. It becomes a burden.
I think when they hire they limit how many employees they have. It's not helping matters.
