Good Morning!
The last few days have been crazy.
Saturday I discovered that I had lost my billfold the last time I went to town...ten days ago!
I've looked everywhere I can think of and quite a few ridiculous places, as well.
I'm sure I lost it while in town and even though it is a town of less than 2000, not everyone
is honest. You can be sure it has been relieved of its cash (I had just cashed a check at the bank)
and has been tossed. The credit cards have not been used, but have cancelled them anyway.
My new driver's license will be here in up to 20 days. <sigh>
All this happened because I went with a friend to buy material to make a quilt for a good friend just
diagnosed with stage three lung cancer.

In the meantime I have returned to my second passion...pen & ink art. Stippling to be exact.
I am still writing, of course, but this is a commission piece to be used as a cover for a CD of
classical guitar music. Very exciting!

Thanks for listening to my petty problems.

Anxiously awaiting spring!

I did that once too, Daniels...a real nuisance to replace cards, etc. *Cry*
We received an unexpected four inches of the nasty white stuff...plus wind and cold temps. Good day to stay inside and work on the last few stories for my upcoming collection of short stories and poems. This will be my second such book and I'm excited by what I have written so far and hope my readers will be also. As you may, or may not, know I'm a rancher lady and write about ranching, nature, and family. So don't be surprised if it has a laid back, country voice.

This is one of the forty plus short stories and poems to be included. Would be appreciative to hear what you think.

I've been AWOL for some time and have went through a lot of life changes...mainly, I've sold my cows. First spring I haven't been calving out the girls in forty years. Wow!

I published a collection of short stories and poetry a little over five years ago and am currently about three quarters of the way into my second collection.

I've added a new short story to my portfolio and am eager to know what you think. I can't remember how to post so you will need to use the search engine to locate my short story "Cousins, Mouse, Flip Flops, and A Little Red Wagon."

Thank you,

Hey All,
I've been AWOL from the writing way too long. The artist in me took over and I have been doing pen & ink drawings. But I am back and hoping the Writing.com family can help keep me motivated while I write enough short stories to publish another collection. I'm still on the ranch and still running cows, so that is my main subject. The second collection is about a third of the way along. Aiming for a larger book this time. ;)

"Thanks For Talkin' To Me" has been selling very well since published in Dec. 2012. I am working with a publisher now and the book has been dressed up with a new cover and available on Amazon.com.

Plan on posting a new short story, "Boo Is A Hero" soon.

Write On!!!

Been a while. So many changes in my life have caused me to go in different directions. In January I lost my husband LeRoy to a rare and aggressive form of Lymphoma. Intravascular large B-cell Lymphoma to be exact. It is so rare that the true incidence is unknown.

I am now running the ranch on my own. Up to my eyeballs in calving. Thankfully the weather here in Nebraska has been awesome.

I'm into pen and ink artwork now...with a spring show coming up in April. Not ready for that either.
