Caged - (To The One Under The Control of Another) Standing in your cage, You're safe and secure. Others look at you and notice How you're looking very mature. They don't see your strange surroundings. They're used to seeing you there. But you know he's holding you in, And you don't even seem to care? In the busy world outside The winds of time fiercely blow. Do you see their swift movements, Or do they not even show - Inside your little cage Where you're safe and secure? "Should poetry be read to try to figure out what the writer was writing about or trying to say, or should it be read to see what it means to you and how it might be applied to your life?" Also, I see you only have 5 fans and at least one isn't even around these days. Must like fans for authors in the real world, we need fans on here to get noticed. Richard ~ Shenanigans INC.   and I both frequently get on the Community Newsfeed where we can see things like you posted. However, very, very few people get on the Community Newsfeed. Thus, if someone isn't on the Community Newsfeed and they haven't clicked your Plus at least once (preferably twice to become a fan), they'll never see your Newsfeed notes. I really encourage you to spend time on the Community Newsfeed regularly. Partly, it's a good place to meet new friends and hopefully meet people who will want to click your Plus Sign...and hopefully some whose Plus you will also want to click.  Another benefit to being on the Community Newsfeed frequently is that you would see notes from the people who occasionally ask people to post something they want reviewed. If your item is longer, I know Starling  does reviews for 1k per word. It's really hard to get people to review longer items, so this is a deal if you've writing a longer story, novella, or novel. To get to the Community Newsfeed, go to your Personal Newsfeed by clicking Newsfeed. Then, along the top you will see "View the Community Newsfeed." Click that and you'll see what everyone is posting (within your rating limit), not just the people whose Plus Sign you have clicked. Scroll, Like, comment, and start making friends. The more folks see you commenting on their items, the more likely they are to click your Plus. If you decide to click a Plus, I really encourage you to double click until you see the megaphone. Some folks like Richard ~ Shenanigans INC. and I (maybe Starling, but I can't recall) will reward new fans and/or occasionally reward all our fans. If you only click our Plus once, you set us as a favorite and that's private. We don't get notified, so we can't reward you. I like to say, "Megaphones get mega bucks while fingers with string get nothing." That way you can remember that you need to click until you see the megaphone so we get notified and can reward you when we reward our fans.  Good luck with your writing and I do hope you are able to find some reviewers.  |

I'm actually very lazy, so I usually go the old-fashioned route and type in the @ symbol followed by the username. Usually after typing in the first few letters of the name, a pop-up menu appears, and from there you can select/click the correct person from that menu.
