Hi Warxty,
I was searching for an author's name and your portfolio came up! I looked around a bit. The pieces that you mention here in your notebook all say invalid item. Is there something you would like reviewed? Let me know.

I don't really have any good jokes, ATM. But Jeremy | 21 Years On WDC had some posted on his Newsfeed note recently. Left click his name, then choose Visit Notebook and scroll until you see the one asking for dad jokes. It was just yesterday or the day before...or maybe earlier today, depending on your time zone. *Laugh*

I also got 1 or 2 posted on "Note: Hey all you dad-joke tellers! [Link To User...", though they were supposed to be posting on Jeremy | 21 Years On WDC's note, not mine. lol
*Party* Happy Writing.Com account anniversary. *Party*

I've learnt that few clear words are better than many words in poetry, and that it's better to leave the reader wanting more instead of over-satisfied. 😂

Can't write a story that flows these days. Always worried, full of myriads of wrestling thoughts that border on perfectionism and originality; thoughts that make me feel like one giving a speech that should be good by all means. A speech that many are likely to hate and hate hearing me for if I made a mistake.

One of such writings is "Invalid Item

I've gotten no review whatsoever about it. It's depressing. If any is kind enough to labour through its first chapter just to tell me what it sounds like, it would be a powerful favour.

Thank you in advance.

Hi Warxty - Posting your work to the Community Newsfeed is a good way to gain visibility for your writing, but there are others as well. There's WdC's official forum for review requests of all types here:

IN & OUT
Please Review  (E)
This is a page to request reviews for static items and books.

Another tip to help you get more people to visit your portfolio is to get to know folks on the Community Newsfeed and grow the number of fans you have – and fan other writers that you like. If you post on the Community Newsfeed, only folks who look at the Community Newsfeed will see your post. Many people stick to their Personal Newsfeed, which is limited to writers they've fanned or favorited. So it's important to hop on the Community Newsfeed and scroll, like, comment, and make friends. The more people that click your plus sign to favorite or fan you, the more they're likely to look at your portfolio.

When you find a person or item you want to keep track of, you click the plus until you see the megaphone (making you a fan, and they get notified). Some people will even fan you back. And some folks, like Schnujo is Late to Lannister , will sometimes send you GPs or MBs. She sends GPs to all her new fans and then MBs, GPs, raffle tickets, etc. at other random times. Adherennium Dr of Phoolishness is sending all of his fans MBs this month - and he's awesome, too. (There are many others as well, these two popped into my mind first!) And of course, you should fan me *Bigsmile* because I'm friendly and helpful *Wink*

Doing reviews of other people's works is another great way to gain visibility/get your name out there. There are a lot of resources about how to write a meaningful review, but I'd suggest starting with looking at WdC 101's article here: "Reviewing On Writing.Com

Good luck and Happy Writing (& Reviewing!)
Thank you for mentioning me, buddhangela's Wounded Not Dead! If you need GPs, I'm also running an activity where if you send MBs (merit badges) to certain people, I send you GPs (gift points). A MB costs 10k, but I pay you 15k GPs for sending them, assuming they count for CRs (community recognitions--the numbers by our names...a MB wouldn't count for CRs if you've sent one to that person in the last 2 weeks, but you get a red warning, so you will know you did *Smile*).

If you need to know how to send MBs, I'm happy to teach you. *Bigsmile* To see what this activity is about, check out my "Note: *Gold* Want 200k GPs? *Gold* *^*Deli...". I offer opportunities to earn GPs from time to time, so double clicking my plus until you see the megaphone will help you get notified of events because I post them on my Newsfeed. No pressure to fan me, but I do try to reward my fans from time to time. *Smile*
Publishers these days seem to reject mostly works that aren't compendiums of others' ideas.

If you play Chess, want to run away to a SciFi world where everything is about Chess, and want a gulp of air from contemporary topics and cliches, your medicine is "Invalid Item

Your review is highly desired too. It's a 7-8 chapters short story, but is littered with adventure and fascinations all through.
I just finished an interesting, short story I named 85. If you like foreign stories, this tale would please you."Invalid Item
What's the best name for a female bricklayer? 😀
I once knew a guy name Brick. Maybe the female version would be Brickette. *Rolling*

Because he spent much of his time imagining, reading, drawing and writing, the writer was bad at conversations and keeping his relationships healthy. 🤔
That's the beauty of WDC, a safe place to share your imagination. *BigSmile*

Welcome to WDC! Scrolling through the Newsfeed, I stumbled upon you and see you've already started posting. Good job! Keep writing and join in coversations. We look forward to seeing more of you.
I have two characters in a children story who are from different countries. Given the present state of things in the world, how do I make one person's character not a subtle allusion to the morals or behaviour of people that look like him or come from where he's from?

? If so, I think Brandiwyn🎶 already has this year's prep calendar up it should help. I do prep every year and volunteer as well. Maybe I could put one of my character bio templates in my port for people to use?
What are the fundamentals of writing children stories? 🙂

Good question.

Talk to them, not at them. Don't preach; don't talk down to them; treat them as people, not idiots. Age of reader dictates language usage, not topics. Use lots of beta readers of the appropriate age you are going for.

And if you have fun writing it, that often translates to them having fun reading it.
