I just saw Maleficent and here's my take in eleven words: Angelina owns it; it's richer than chocolate dipped fudge; and wow.

It's not for everyone, but if you like fantasy/mythology kind of stuff, I bet you won't be disappointed.

Not surprised that you liked the movie, Tony! Fantasy/mythology... yeah. Seemed like an obvious movie for you. *Wink*
Whoa...what does hiking the Grand Canyon, dining in Sedona, camping under the stars, being evacuated from the Slide Rock forest fire, and the author of this entry have in common? They all came together in Northern Arizona this past week. I have a whole new appreciation for the the rangers, deputies, hotshots, firefighters, and Red Cross workers that are keeping things together. Whoa! What a team. If any of you are listening...thanks!

Wow! Very lucky to have those rangers!
I was just at Disneyland where I saw a preview of Maleficent; it looks like it's going to be a wild ride!
I am a lucky mentee to know what special ingredient makes a cup of chai and a four hour chat both sweet and spicy: it's clearly Cinnamon. My high expectations were far exceeded as my virtual mentor has turned to colorful friend and I couldn't be happier about that. I can't wait 'til our next cup of tea.

Cheers, Cinna!

Does this post has some kind of connection with Twilight? *Bigsmile* Or Vampires overall? *Tulipo**Poseyb*

We used to go to Anza Borrego (spelling?) every spring, and the poppy reserve, too. I hate Michigan. Sniff a few flowers and howl at the moon for me, would you, please?

I received a shiny, new costumicon from a wonderful friend! Although I'm not a rock climber per se, I do love camping, hiking, and kayaking, and I think the symbolism of climbing upwards, into the sky is pretty cool! And get this...more great friends have placed me in Spotlights and Showcases, and to all I am very grateful *Delight*

PERSONAL GOAL:

I'm thinking about focusing more on reviewing and with it will come a new pen name with more of an editorial vibe, and a Bio-Block update. Any thoughts?

Firelight Views <= new name

I prefer hiking to biking, swimming to jogging, jazz to metal, chocolate to taxes, and I'm an avid reader with one question to you: Do you have a story you'd like to see in a new light? Perhaps I can help. If possible, I will read your work and offer a comprehensive and thoughtful critique. In return, perhaps you could do the same for me. Thanks for stopping by and let's talk soon *Delight*

As for me I would never change my pen name, only in case I stop to love Richard, but that I'm sure will never happen. But people here often change names and sometimes I'm confused who is who because some of them change it totally. Just when I check their port I realize who they are *Bigsmile*
As for reviewing I recommend it highly because helping to the others you will help yourself more than you can imagine. Maybe you can start by reading "Public reviews" on your left side of port under "things to do and read" you choose "public reviews". I used to do it often until I found my own font, type and my own way to give helpful reviews. People appreciate when you give them reason why you like story and also why you didn't like. So, my opinion is, if you want to give to some story or poem 4 stars and tell that it's well written with no mistakes you need to give them also proof why you gave those 4 stars rating. Check it out how others doing it and from every review you can take the best part and then create your own review style. I mean, not to copy reviews but just take things that you think needs to be in one helpful review such as: imagery, first impression, your suggestions, what you liked, what you didn't like etc. I hope you understand me. *Smile* So good luck with it. As I said I'll review every story in my contest that you entered as well I just need to find little time so no worries about it. *Smile*
Welcome to WDC!

I'm new too and it's a great place with lots of fun things to do!

Hey there Jayhawker! Thanks for stopping by and saying hi. Yeah, it's fun being a newbie. The amazing support you get here really makes this a special place. I was just telling a friend that aside from my bumping around this colossal site and my catalog of questions, it feels as if I've been here forever and I wonder what I was doing without it for so long. I agree, "it's a great place with lots of fun things to do!" It was a pleasure meeting you, Jayhawker, stop by any time *Smile*

I was just snooping and noticed this post. I love seeing all of you new people finding each other! *Bigsmile* It's funny how I always seem to know both parties too! *Laugh* I swear, I'm like a newbie stalker extraordinaire!
From Squirrels and Nuts to Mount Olympus, my journey through four contests comes to a close.
Thinking about Campfire Creatives and Contest Buddies. They are good thoughts indeed *Smile*
Things To Do:

( ) Order a Round of Mimosas
( ) Learn How to Play Tennis

Just got back from hiking Big Bear Lake where I tried to spark a Romance story for a contest. I ate some amazing grapes, got distracted by coyote tracks and fell into a small creek. I got wet, shared embarrassed laughter with fellow hikers and didn't accomplish a single thing with my story. I will try again tomorrow, in my hammock, where I may find my story and stay a whole lot dryer.

I am: remodeling one house and selling another, entered in three writing contests, tutoring my neighbor in chess, getting ready to camp at Joshua Tree, planting my Spring garden, swimming three times a week at the Y, and eating tacos as often as possible. This is a rough sketch of my first week in March...I wonder what I'll do in April? I hope this is the right way to use my notebook.
