Life, and school gets in the way of writing..
Hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving.
Take a few minutes to give thanks, and be
with a loved one. Even if it's a phone call.

Hope everyone's having a good weekend. Since its a rainy one here I'm working on something a bit different than my norm.
It's based on a true story I started a few years ago. I'm a bit stuck on my mystery story, so I thought I'd take that out and finish it. My plan/goal is to have it done by end of weekend.
Have you got something tucked away you'd like to finish?
Welcome Anne! *Bigsmile* It's always great to find another mystery fan to share writing with. If you need any help, just let me know and I'll try to steer you in the right direction!
I figured something out...3 written pages in a notebook don't ad up to much on a computer screens page.

Sara decided it was time. Time to go back home to the coastal town of Wanchese. A small fishing town on the Outer Banks of North Carolina. With her father's passing she wanted to be with family.
She hadn't seen Michael, Robbie, or Janie. Her half brothers and sister since she was 15. Leaving the desert town of Las Vegas
wasn't hard to do now since she had no other family there. The only regret was Jake. He had been good for her. She cared about him, but she wasn't sure how much.
Putting Jake aside for now, Sara wondered how her family would react to seeing her again. Were they going to be happy to see her? Especially since the three of them never left home and ended up working for the same deep sea fishing and boat excursion company.
Their mother had been in and out of a mental hospital most of her life and Sara never knew her. Though her brothers and sister did have that misfortune. Luckily they were taken in by an aunt and uncle after their mothers death.
Sara's father always told her she was blessed to have her mother's long brown hair and green eyes, but not her illness.
She was grateful.
As she waited on the two hour ferry ride, she couldn't wait to surprise them. Being all together again was something she'd wanted the last nine years since her father took her away. Surely they would feel the same.
_____________________________
TBC. Is Sara's family as sane as she is, or have one or more of them inherited their mothers mental instability?

Why don't you make the story as a static item? Go to portfolio on the left tab, and create a static item. You can find how to create items in "Writing.Com 101. his way it'll get reviews and ratings and more exposure too.
I'm new here, so forgive me.(for whatever's
ahead)
First of all, I'm new to writing. It's something I've wanted to do a long time. I love mysteries. Especially murder mysteries.
I have outline of story I'd like to write, don't know how to get timeline & protagonist & antagonist...well, all it together. I have started writing it. Just don't know if it passes the tests. When I've completed a bit more, I'll be brave'ish & ask opinions. I going to look around now. This appears to be a great place.

Welcome. I remember starting on the site without anything-- without any idea or storyline. I just had that thought that I should write. Today, almost three years later, I'm much better.

You are in better position than me. You've that idea. So, stop stalling and start writing.
