I think this is great, especially the first line. I also like the fact that the new love is starting to soften the pain of old love. Encouraging, let's hope it's true! Only criticism is that the 'I guess' seems suddenly colloquial bur perhaps that was your intention... Loved it, thanks for posting it!

Wow, just wow. The last stanza is completely amazing. I love the imagery of reaching because the reader is never quite sure whether the speaker is going to reach anything or if someone will reach back. Of course, the last stanza sorts that out. Completely effective. I'd love to know what you think of some of my work. Thanks again for posting this, so emotive.

This is very moving and similar to the short story I have just posted in my portfolio. They have in common the idea that abandoned lovers die or the fact that the one who has abandoned them is only sorry once the person has died. The feeling of hopelessness in this poem is incredible and I love the fact that the person who has left her just doesn't have time to care. So true! Please have a look at mine and compare! It's called, 'Once Loved.'
