Bill, I love this piece. I can't help likening the door to me at this stage of my life! I'd rather you didn't keep your distance though especially if my work can conjur up a surge of romantic images for you too sometimes! This is the epitome of the show and tell credo is it not? I indeed SEE your images in living colour. Your contrast of "the book to its cover" is superb and brings so much joyful relief to a grim opening. Great aliteration in sequential order after the birds, beasts and flowers. If I must critique, I can only say that I seem to keep adding the word "a" before "intimate approach" Would it spoil your rhythm or your finely chiseled choice of words? I imagine you to have had almost as much fun writing this as i had reading it. Annie
