Ooooh, very nice twist. I really liked it - it confused me in the good, mysterious kind of way. I found the flashbacks somewhat lacking, though - I'm not sure if they were intentionally vague, but they felt slightly insubstantial. Then again, it suited the general style of the piece. Pretty gripping, which is rare in a piece that doesn't "move", so to speak.
The plot was good , but is this an excerpt or the entire story? Because if that was the whole story, I wasn't entirely sure what the Arcadians were. The action scenes were well written, and you characterised Boss well in a short time. You just had a small tense problem at the start, when you were describing the characters, you went to present tense. Overall, a good story, that just needs a bit more background - why did they have these abilites?
