I read a few of your poems here and enjoyed them all, but especially like the one at the top of the first page called "I Write". My favorite line was "I write because I don't have a horse to ride anymore". That just really stuck out to me, maybe because I love horses and always wanted one of my own.
It is indeed hard not to fall for some conspiracy theories, especially since some of them eventually turn out to be true! The whole covid lab leak and JFK assasination come to mind immediately. I think the real reason many Americans fall so easily for conspiracy theories now is that the media and government are so unreliable that no one trusts them much anymore. We know how much we have been lied to on some issues like the Iraq war, Afghanistan, bank bailouts, etc., so that breeds conspiracy theories. In my opinion, the government has no one to blame but themselves for the awful situation America is in right now.
Thank you so much for sharing your experience and helping to raise awareness for the homeless community. To be honest, becoming homeless is my biggest fear and a legitimate one if something ever happened to my husband as I am disabled and would have to live on less than a thousand dollars a month if alone. The rising costs of housing and lack of affordable housing are just ridiculous and something that could definitely be changed if capitalism and profit weren't the Gods this country worships. I really hope you are able to get to a better place soon!
Beautifully written! I certainly learned a lot about Moldova, which I didn't really know much at all about. I like how you wound in some mythology, that really sets the atmosphere I think. I always find footnotes a little distracting, but totally understand why you included them.
I get the numbers for the dates and order they were written in but was a bit confused with the numbers starting every line. I found them a bit distracting from the flow of the poetry, but maybe there is a reason for them? Otherwise, I really enjoyed the poetry. Beautiful, stark imagery that sparks emotion and connection.
Nice little poetic bits. I see your pen name is Nurse25, so maybe you have some interesting poetry topics there! I used to work at an ER and I had some fascinating stories haha. I'm sure you have your own!
I feel Lilith's pain. I too have been on the merry-go-round of psychiatric care for many, many years. Just today they decided to add two new meds. Part of me doesn't want to even try them, but part of me just wants so desperately to feel better that it is tempting. I figure how much more hellish can it really get? But I'm often surprised by the answer to that.
