This article opened my eyes. I never gave a second thought to forwarding a cute graphic or inspirational email, by "anonymous." I now see how I was partaking in something that must stop. Nobody should have their artistic expressions forwarded without their consent or even their knowledge. Thank you for making us aware of how this action does a disservice to our peers - artists/writers like us.

A wonderful commentary - very thought-provoking. I was enthralled with Abercrombie & Fitch when I was in High School (10 years ago), as were my little sister and my mother. Back then, the clothes were definitely not cheap, but the quality was excellent. They also did not have the soft-core pornography marketing that they do today. I think I gave up on them about 5-6 years ago when I walked inside and saw the quality had drastically decreased and Abercrombie had somehow acquired a propensity to put glitter on everything (like the on the seat of sweatpants). I remember thinking that Abercrombie had really lost sight of their target audience.

Now that their target audience seems to have shifted somewhat from people seeking quality basics to teens (as well as pre-teens and post-teens), I have accepted the glitter on the rear. However, I find it extremely offensive that they utilize the marketing devices that they do. Every teen wants to fit in and Abercrombie is seen as the "cool thing." So what kind of message is this porn sending today's youth?

I think you kind of hit a nerve :)

Great job!
