A really good article. It's always refreshing to read something that you are able to relate to. I liked how even though its quite a sobering subject, you still managed to bring humour to it. To improve this article, I would add a conclusion to the end. Usually a light hearted solution is all the article needs to sound complete and less like a rant. For example you could suggest that maybe in the future, public transport could be fitted with single seats or even NO SEATS seen as everybody would rather stand up than sit next to a stranger.
Basically it just finishes the article and brings the whole piece to a happy ending, and everybody loves a happy ending :)
