Very interesting prologue. I would be interested in reading the book and seeing in what direction it goes in. You have to be careful that it does not become to generic though. Some of what you are writing has been seen in various forms in other books, such as someone having a heart of pure darkness & someone having a heart of pure light and shadow spawns being almost anybody we know.
You should try to find a variation on it, such as giving the shadow spawn a cause- a reason behind what they do, perhaps even having some tragic cases in there. Also that would be a lot of chaotic events that they caused- try finding specific ones with certain details; which may help you define your villains more. I could go on and on, but I'm looking forward to whatever other piece you may put up. Hope you're able to write an excellent book and that I get to read it someday soon. All the best.
