in the first paragraph you use the description alien twice, you may want to change one to something else.

I like what you have and would like to read the rest when it's done. I'm hooked already and thats a sign of a good writer. Give 'em a taste so they keep coming back. Hope to read the rest soon, it's an awsome start-- or middle-- or end.

I haven't attempted this contest yet. Your story is very good for being so short. I could not find any mistakes and the topic is something I haven't come across on this site. Different is good in your case.

Hillarious! It started slow and serious, I thought it was going to be boring. I'm glad I kept reading. It was like going up a hill on a rollercoaster and laughing your butt off on the way down the other side. A wonderful story I'm glad I took the time to read it. Thank you

The first sentence is a little confusing to me I think and is it might be isn't it it may sound better.
communication was effective(.)(forgot period)
A nice story very true. You wouldn't believe how many times I talk to my kids and they have a blank stare and didn't hear anything I said. Anyway I liked it give yourself some credit it's pretty good. Hope to read you soon.
