*Exclaim* Hi Amy! Wow, what a fun poem! I think the cute emojis you included throughout the poem added to the 'happy feeling' atmosphere. I certainly smiled while I was reading it, and yes, I do have my coffee, too. *Bigsmile*

I liked how you wrote a sampling of the many different types of coffee to be enjoyed. My favorite is the caramel ribbon crunch. It made me want to have one right now! (Maybe tomorrow *Wink*)

The last stanza about enjoying coffee all the different ways brought the poem to a nice close. As in your title, Coffee is, indeed, the Spice of Life. *Smile*

I love the coffee theme, and just looking at these images makes me want more coffee. I always have two in the morning, so I guess I'll wait! *Wink*

I thought you chose great titles for each of the images, and the image with the teddy bear is so cute!!

The prices seem a bit over-caffeinated to me, but maybe my mind is still in the old day prices.

I had the impression that the fee benefited the Coffee House, so maybe that might have been in the heading under the image there. Other than that, I think they are great! *Laugh*

*Exclaim* Bravo, Penelope! You succeeded in presenting the feelings one sense when they read a poem. Good poetry opens up all of the senses and allows the reader to experience what they sometimes miss in real life.

How often does a person rush past blowing leaves, colorful singing birds, and other beauties life has to offer while getting into their cars to be on their way? They might have many thoughts in their head - traffic, work, school, etc., but no thoughts of their wondrous surroundings.

You expressed how readers can remember and ponder these wonders through reading the poet's works. These works, I think, take a person away for a moment, to imagine.

Very nicely done, smooth-flowing poem. Enjoy the WDC festivities this week! *Delight*

What a lovely poem you wrote! I had never come across a poem in the Gogyohka form, so I was happy to see it.

It's as pretty and delicate as a haiku though a bit different. Perhaps if you get a chance and wish to, you might add a little bit about the form for those of us less familiar with Gogyohka.

I liked the words which you chose to paint the picture of the leaves falling. I could imagine in my mind the wispy breezes of autumn, blowing a leaf this way and that way. You said so much in a small space - we feel (the cool winds), we see (the naked trees and drifting leaves), and it causes us to imagine and ponder. Nice work.

I thought the prompt and the prompt prize were interesting and creative. I also felt that you showed creativity in the story you designed for that prompt.

I always enjoyed Sherlock Holmes and similar mysteries. You found a way to write one all from the number, '22'! Nice work!

I loved the conversation between the resident and the man who knocked on the door. Gosh, he was so confused, wasn't he! *Laugh* What great ideas you had!!

The best part was the way you chose to end it. He lost something alright - his marbles!! I'm glad I came across your fun story. Have a great week!

*Exclaim* Oh Anni! This story is so cute and funny! I was entertained from the beginning to the end!

Your flawless writing made it seem easy to write a story entirely in dialogue, but I'm suspicious that it's not easy as you made it seem. You simply did a smooth job of it.

The part which made it so fun was the time points throughout the story, and the surprise ending! Poor little fish no longer has a clue!

I felt it seemed believable. I could imagine a little kid insisting on a parent to buy a certain fish in a pet shop. Now, we have an idea about what goes on in the little fish head, and how easily they might forget!

I enjoyed reading this piece and I felt it was very pretty. I liked how you mentioned, that humanity, the sentient life form on Earth, was created to carry forward an ever-advancing civilization. Great philosophy!

I watch a lot of sci-fi shows, and in those, people are always in awe and wonder of the cosmos. In our own real-world life, many rockets and satellites search the skies. It makes me wonder what humans will find on Mars one day, if anything, and your story leaves me pondering those thoughts. Good job *Smile*

Wow! This is very impressive! You are a Canadian Hockey Celebrity for sure. The colorful photos seem like action skating movements at a glance! It's not easy to skate, but of course, you probably skated as well as people walk.

I'm glad you had all of these photos to share, and I think you really did a great job with entering them into this photo album. I noticed it at the top of your port, so I thought I'd stop by. I was glad that I did! I loved the picture of the award and mascotte. The uniforms are a great color, too.

Thanks for sharing your sweet poem. As I was reading it, I kept thinking that your grandparents would be very proud of you. I wonder if my grandchildren might write such a fond tribute of me someday...

I loved your descriptions of the farm and the farmhouse. I could visualize lush vegetation threatening to take it all back to nature's original form. Very nicely done!

In addition, gosh, it must have been annoying to remember not to use any of those prompt forbidden words in a tribute poem! How tempting that would be for me!! Words such as time, memory, etc. seem like a must for these type of poems. Well done.

I can imagine the love which once flowed inside the house. It was a 'home' after all. Grandpa hung his hat by the door as he entered the house. Dishes were carefully placed on the shelves. Now, only the mind can see these things.

*Exclaim*Wow, what a captivating story! It left me thinking about how things might have been here where I live 50 years ago, and also about how things might be 50 years from now. I got chills just thinking about it all!

I liked how your story started nicely. Samuel and Margery started their new lives together (complete with Margery being carried over the threshold - so sweet an image - I wonder if people do that these days). It sounded as though they had a wonderful life and enjoyed their neighbors.

I didn't know where your story was going, but wow! b Your descriptions of how it all changed at the end were perfect to paint the scene!

...And you left it with a happy ending, which I really loved. After all they've been through, and after all of the changes, they both felt the atmosphere of a happy home. Nice work. Have fun this week! *Smile*

I was absolutely impressed at how you wrote this story all in dialogue! That's not easy to do, as I know how tempting it might be to add in other types of explanations. You didn't need any of that! Your descriptions were well done all in the dialogue.

What better way to win the heart of a woman with a heart of stone than to present a special, Great Alfred painting! She is pure at heart after all. *Laugh*

I loved the plot, and how this was because her father needed someone to leave his lands to. And the person in the story collected a fee as well. *Wink*

I wouldn't change anything here. One thing which I noticed, though, was that the contest is no longer valid. Maybe take the link out and only leave the contest prompt. And, of course, say that it won in the contest! Big CONGRATS, by the way.

LOL I just looked it up and found this on the internet: "SantaCon is an annual pub crawl in which people dressed in Santa Claus costumes or as other Christmas characters parade in various cities around the world."

Oooh, and this one looks delicious! Italian food is one of my all-time favorites, along with Mexican and Chinese foods. I like the colors in the image, and I can really see the cheese, too. Who doesn't like meatballs! (Well, my daughter will only eat them if they are made with turkey. LOL)

I'm not a big fan of Spaghetti, as I normally share some of it with my shirt! *Laugh*
But I love pasta in general.

I really liked this snowglobe because of it's bright colors. I've seen other snowglobes, and they aren't so colorful. Yours popped nicely.

I liked, also, that it is about Dallas. Living on the east coast all of my life, I've only had the opportunity to visit Dallas a couple of times. Years ago when I first went there, I expected tumbleweeds! LOL I was very pleasantly surprised to see the beautiful and modern city that it is. *Smile*

I liked that you mentioned a saying from your dad. He must be a clever and humorous man.
I think I'll also start wishing on Snow Globes! *Laugh*
Actually, my friend collects them, so I will think of you and mention that saying!

Your dad has a nice singing voice. Gosh, he is eight-six!!!
It is awesome that his kindergarten teacher taught him this song so many years ago, and he still can remember it and sing it so very well.

Wow! I am in awe at the poem which you wrote from the simple prompt words, wind blown, statue, fields, wreath, and bottle. Seriously! How were you able to write such a deep, adventurous, fantasy story poem from that! I'm sure others might have ventured into the message in a bottle line - and, by the way, I like how you casually slipped something about that in, but you took your poem to a whole other level!

I liked the addition of prehistoric pterodactyls. They added a captivating excitement to your story poem, especially when it seemed the hero would fall from one of their grips.

It was fun to read from the beginning to the end. The first two lines made me want to continue reading. "Once on a wind blown Pacific plateau, /held in a land that retained long ago. Your ending made me think of a, 'Happily ever after' story. Nice work! *Delight*

*Exclaim*Hi Destiny. Nicely written story!

You wrote it in a way that your readers will really have a sense of what the main character is feeling. Gosh, I felt a dislike for the teacher when she singled out the student the way she did. That wasn't nice, though I'm sure she meant well.

I felt the suspense as to what would happen next. You did a great job in not rushing the story, but showing what was going on in that classroom instead.

I didn't know what Asperger was so I had to look it up at the end. Maybe since you mentioned it in the title, you could add a notation about it at the end of the story.

I have a few little suggestions...

I think your story would present better if you skipped a line in between paragraphs or thoughts -- As I am doing in this review, for example.

This line might look better with the use of {i} and {/i} since it is the character's thoughts, and 'to' should be 'too', like this: This. Is. Too. Much.

my self should be myself

The numbers of counting might be written out so that, for example, 26 could be twenty-six.

Other than those tiny little things, the story was captivating. Good job.

*Exclaim* Oh, nicely done! I'm always fascinated by structured poems. This one, a terzanelle, seems very complex to me. I took a moment to look at all of the small details. I like the way you tied the first and last stanza so smoothly. The structure of the terzanelle appeared to be perfect.

By the way, I don't write structured poems very often, so I had to look this one up as a refresher. I can imagine some viewers might not recognize or appreciate that this is a terzanelle poem. I would suggest that you add a little note at the bottom to explain what that form of poetry is, or you might come across someone who won't see the beauty and work which went into it's creation.

The story of your poem was whimsical and mysterious. I especially liked the talk of gypsies and palm readers. That's something which I always wanted to do. Maybe I'll see a palm reader at a county fair someday. Well done. *Smile*

*Exclaim* Hi Jace! Oh my gosh! That looks like it was a fantastic trip! You caught great moments on camera. I've never been to Alaska, but I was able to get a good sense of what it looks like from your variety of pictures.

Wow! You even had little floating ice burgs there! The flowers were pretty, and the girls look like they were having so much fun. I don't know about those animals...Are elks friendly? It looks like you might have been pretty close to them! LOL

I thought it was a nice touch to write an introduction before the album. Nice work in putting this one together.

I've had friends who have been to Alaska and they told me about dog sled rides and other fun moments. This is the first time I saw a photo album of such a trip. Thanks for sharing the winter fun! *Delight*

*Exclaim*Hi Happy! Oh gosh, I loved your crockpot tale. I never made a peach cobbler in a crockpot, so now I am looking forward to trying something like that.

I use my crockpot a lot, too. I started years ago at a time when my daughter was in her high school varsity sports. I'd set it up early, and it was ready to eat after her games, or when the rest of the family was ready to eat while my daughter and I were still out. Your story brought back great memories. *Delight*

I would have loved to see a more detailed recipe following your story. Perhaps you might add one there, and space it out so it will be easy to read and follow. With that said, I will surely look up desert recipes in the future. Up until now, I have only made entrees in my crockpot. Thanks for the winter fun! *Smile*

Review of An autumn walk

*Star*This review contains some of my brief thoughts about your Autumn poem.

*Exclaim* What a wonderful poem to read during this season when our weather changes along with the leaves.

I enjoyed your descriptive words. I could imagine the sights and sounds of a true countryside walk. I was impressed that you described the sound of crisp, fallen leaves as similar to that of paper bags. It shows fresh ideas in poetic writing.

I smiled as I imagined the squirrels hurrying up an Oak tree. We've all seen that before, no matter where we live. *Smile*

The mist from the valley floor, described as ghostly, was perfect! Gosh, I hate driving in fog, but it is going to make it seem more eerie next time when I remember how you described it as ghostly! *Bigsmile*

I'll have to admit that you lost me a bit in your third stanza. I had to look up, pipping, but I still couldn't figure out what you meant here: Nearby, mushrooms thrust furled fists. A pipping. / Long-tailed tits arrow across the fiery sky.

Other than that brief stumble, I thought you did a really great job. I especially enjoyed the ending where you hinted at winter. It was a nice way to end the poem.
