A simple little poem that reveals the depth of how far down that depression and abuse can drag one. Once the heart and spirit is broken many cannot cope in any other way besides shutting off all emotional attachments to others since opening up can result in people near you to leave, or worse insult and attack, you.

This made me think about how many movies, books and real life have characters that are the same as the man in the story. They all seem to make a little mistake, almost as if they secretly tried to lose the struggle. Very good and thought provoking.
