What a beautiful poem written, sadly, for an animal who like so many in the U.S. alone are left behind and discarded as if they were simply pieces of trash. The fact that the poem is written from the dog's point of view makes the poem all the more better of a read. I have three animals (two cats and a dog) and they are all rescues. The world could use a little more Canine and Feline love!! Thank You!
Even though the general idea of the story is about this young lady and the complete tragedy that happened to her, like her, I could do nothing but find beauty in the leaves. Your impeccable detailed writing of their movements and the way they danced instantly put the picture in my mind as clear as day. And it was quite a beautiful picture if I do say so. Beautiful writing... absolutely beautiful!
