Wow, so very powerful and tragic... I lost my sister in a car accident 10 years ago and many poems I've written came from that deep well of suffering that all who have lost loved ones know. Thank you for sharing your grief. I know holidays can be tough so I pray that God will wrap his encouraging arms around you during this season. Take care,

I really liked this poem...I skipped your overview until after I read the poem and so I had no idea what it was about or where it was going other than what was in the next line...so it kept me guessing and picturing the feast... until the cold reality set in. What was also neat was that this past Thanksgiving, my mom and dad were in town and I watched one of our favorite movies (The Count of Monte Cristo) with my dad who had not seen it before and he absolutely loved it, so the story was fresh in my mind. You did a great job here. Write on!

I like this very much(even if you would becompetition in this contest if I enter it). It speaks so poignantly to the feelings a mother has of her son fighting so far away...Keep up the great work.

Wow, what a creative story! I thought you developed the characters well and the story line kept my interest. there were a couple of time when I thought some of the comma usage was gramatically incorrect like, "I was so good it was scary, how natural it came." but I could be wrong. Over-all it was a well written story. Keep up the good work!
