This is a really good piece - so much pain and frustration for your heroine and then one day she's truly free. I can feel her relief.

Just a thought - there's a webzine called Shotgun Honey that specialises in noir fiction. I think they'd love your work (they published one of mine and crime fiction isn't really my 'thing'!).

A nice, compact little story. I'm glad the narrator got his own back!

One thing - putting a space between your paragraphs makes them easier to read.
