This is a really good story. Jewel Black is a real interesting name for a character too, I don't think I would have ever thought of a name like that in my writing. Although, maybe you would have chosen something other than "an old Indian burial ground", people use that all the time. How about something like... "a small town that was mass murdered in the 1500's" or some other date? But other than that small part, it's really good! ^^
