This poem brought back memories of my own father's death. It holds the theme of shoes throughout the poem, and the emotion is held until the girl is gone, which is natural. So the poem flows well and it evokes emotion well. I'm not an expert at poetry, so you can take this or leave it, but the last four lines don't seem to fit well, while an expression of emotion does seem natural, crying is natrual, and maybe screaming at some point, but anger? (yelling) and all three? I doubt that much emotion is necessary unless the child had been murdered. I have never had a child to loose, but I have lost both parents and my younger brother (he was 49). Maybe they just need to be reworded, not necessarily done away with. The rest of the poem is really beautiful, and I really did enjoy it.
This is a very interesting read. The characters, plot and setting are very well thought out and described very well. The thought dialogue of Mr Rabbit is appropriate interesting as well. I always enjoy a bit of a mystery, will he get escape the big bad farmer or not? and that is a very good plot, kept me until the very end. I really enjoyed this well writen story as will any child.
