This is a good read. I enjoyed the story. Perhaps you could describe Tommy better. Your descriptons of the ugly wife and uglu baby were good. It would enhance it I think if you described Tommy to make it easier to picture him in the picture. I am not sure about the priest - is he "robust" and "comforting" (kindly) or does he have "beady eyes" (devious) or both.

Good work - you can take this story to many places!
