Very, very interesting... as you begin to read the story, you're expecting a sweet, romantic lovestory (based on the title). Then when you get to the middle, you begin to ask yourself "what just happened?"
And then you get to the last part, and you're left standing there thinking, "where did THIS come from?"
This story could be put in SEVERAL different contexts; including Spiritual or Self-Awareness. I loved the emotion put behind it, the fact that the person kept pursuing the answers, as well as the solution to the problem. She kept clarifying what the outcome would be of her actions.
Ok... as a mother, this is TWISTED!!! I'm not exactly sure how to even review something like this EXCEPT to say alot of creativity, and even a unique imagination...
It's interesting how you mixed action, adventure, fantasy, and maybe even a little sci-fi to put this amazing story together. Granted, this wouldn't be a story I normally would rush to pick up read (simply because it's not what I enjoy most); however, I have to recognize the creativity, the art, and the amazing skill it took to put this together.
To turn around, no name, no "kudos", and GIVE someone back a HUGE piece of their life, is something that happens so rarely these days... yet it is so BADLY needed in today's world. To turn around & know of someone that is struggling or in need to to just GIVE without hesitation goes beyond humanity into Godly... it is something I wish I had right now for my kids & I, so I know how powerful it is.
I love the descriptive words, the visual images, and how you can almost put a person IN the setting. You can almost feel the sun, hear the sounds, feel the temperatures, etc. It's a great way to bring a reader into whatever it is you're trying to portray... it worked for me!
Very unique, descriptive, and imaginative. I know there are MANY different forms of poetry; I guess I'm just used to lyrics of songs-type. This took a lot of courage, creativity, and heart to write this, and for that, I give you tons of credit. You did an awesome job.
This kind of takes you into the world of an addiction; not necessarily drugs, but any addiction! The "hunger", the yearning, the craving, the unfettered focus on nothing else BUT getting that "fix". It's a real, powerful things to battle-no matter what it is one is addicted to. Thank you for bringing that to light for those who don't know.
Very creative, very imaginative. It almost takes someone into a whole new world, a whole different realm. For those of us who have never read a piece like this before (like me), we really aren't sure what to expect... and whether we are a fan of this genre of writing or not, we have to recognize ART. Very well done!
The pain of a mother felt so deep... the despair, the anguish, the emotions overflowing... The feeling of "what if", the wondering if you made a mistake, if you said all the right things, etc. Wondering if your daughter KNOWS you love her... I know the feeling personally
I love how this story "drags" you in... you're led into a story where you're kept in suspense; not knowing what's to come next, but always wondering. You could almost put an image to the events that were happening-what it might look like to experience what Fae is going through.
Twisted, seductive, and almost like something so life-like! It makes you wonder what happened to lead up to this woman getting so inebriated that she barely can understand what he is saying to her. It also makes you wonder whether he fulfills his plans & HOW!!?
I'm impressed over this piece for several reasons (and I'm going to be honest). Growing up in a "Protestant home", I am very unaware & have a lack of knowledge as to the Catholic religion as a whole. Growing up in a Christian environment, I understand how religion can be "choked" & confined... but I also naively assumed it was just Christianity that suffered that. At the same time, I believe "freedom of religion" has been taken too far, as have other freedoms that have been given. I once heard it said, "with a freedom comes responsibility"; this is where I feel this country is falling. We have a responsibility to teach acceptance of other religions, we have a responsibility to support our young & elderly & all in between that need us, and we have a responsibility NOT to teach the attitude of "our religion is right-yours is wrong".
Isn't it ironic that 2 of the people who went for freedom "of all" were slave owners?? Isn't it ironic that in the same city where the Leviticus inscription on teh bell talking about freedom for ALL inhabitants, documents were signed by people who OWNED other people as slaves?? This kind of mentality has been carried over into other areas; religion, what constitutes a family, etc..
I am SO glad to see someone has touched on the subject of MENTORS!! I believe that in many fields, including writing, there aren't enough of them out there for us "newbies". I am a "newbie" who has a lot in her to write, to express, and to get out on paper; whether it be in the arena of Non-Fiction, Fiction, articles, etc. I have ADD, so focus & organization (enough to put it on paper) can be a struggle of mine! I have a couple pieces that I am working on where I have started out with an outline; it helped very much with one piece... the other one I haven't gotten beyond the outline! :) I then get frustrated, and leave my writing alone for a couple days... which is the worst thing for me to do!
Sorry for rambling on, but just know I truly appreciate this entry. Consider yourself blessed to have the guidance, help, and patience that you received. God bless.
First of all, I give you a TON of credit & respect for simply being as transparent as you are; showing vulnerability isn't easy for anyone! Secondly, I know there are many people out there besides myself who can relate to the contents of this piece. Having said that, I want to point out how lucky you are to have someone like your husband; " a man who struggles right along with me, in an effort to unravel this mysterious illness of mine." I am a single mother of 2 children. My 14 yr old daughter has ADHD along with developmental issues (in reality she's about 9-10), and my 8 yr old son is suspected to have Asperger's. On top of that, I have fibromyalgia, osteoarthritis, cyclothymia, etc. I have created a wall around myself and my world as a form of safety & protection. I have been taken advantage of so many times, lied to so many times that I'm worn out! Please know that I appreciate your piece.
