We have a character who is reflecting on his life. When young he had fun with this friends and never gave much thought to what tomorrow might hold. As he became an adult he got messed up with the wrong crowd and made some decision he regrets. Sex and drinking was the order of the day but so much time had passed away. His mother wanted more for him and cried when she saw the path he was heading on. He remembers her tears.
He remembers his carefree years.
He knows nothing can change what has been done.
Being alone and full of pain and anger as he travels along.

Thank you for sharing this emotional piece.

Our author brings us a piece about how things aren't always what they appear to be. A man is talking and it looks like he is talking to himself. It is making our character curious and even a bit nosy. Watching the talking guy is amusing and a bit time consuming. Then comes the surprise; the talking guys words are being heard by another too.

Well, here we have a story about a mother that feels like something is wrong in her home. She hears her little girl trying to talk to her but can't seem to find her.
Soon it becomes apparent that the mom has some screws loose and is totally nuts.
She has taken steps to stop the annoying things that interfere with her days.

This piece is about a woman who keeps taking this guy back. She is lost without him. Her world apparently is turned upside down.

She knows he is bad for her but she is lonely for him anyway. She has probably been a ping pong ball for him many times. For some reason she feels safe with him and whole again once he returns.

So they start the dance of illusion. Things will work this time. The author compares them to actors on a stage. What happens when the orchestra leaves. When the songs end. When the reality walks through the double door at the theaters entrance and the guy walks out again? Alone again on a lonely stage.

Thank you for sharing.

Here we have a parent giving her daughter advice. Well the parent covers so many things the woman should do to please the husband. She must spend time telling about her wonderful family name. Almost like she should stay in her place like a trophy wife. She must be attractive on his arm. Listen to his every word. Any gifts must be praised.

(MY OPINION ONLY)
I read this piece over and over again and tried to find something for the woman to do to make HER happy. It's like she will be content and happy if she forgets herself and centers on him.

This reminds me of something.
There was an old movie called The Stedford Wives dealing with programmed robots who were at their husbands call.

The author brings us a piece about spring. So welcome is this season to all creatures big and small. The warmth, the sun, the flowers and fragrance. Smiles are plenty. Moods are nicer. A bit slower pace find our feet moving.
Rebirth and renewal. Birds singing. Bees buzzing. Butterflies showing off their colorful outfits. Don't forget the best part. That child inside us just might find it necessary to jump out.

Here we have a piece depicting how things aren't always the way they should be. Three pairs of children are making their way home from school as any other day. Four of the children find their parents waiting and eager to see them.

The last two children walk along against the wind.
As they travel and get closer to home; the little boy clings to his sister for protection. She looks after him like a little mother. Actually they must depend on each other. Their home environment is volatile and scary for them. The parents don't come out to greet them but instead yelling is heard. All the way to their home they have been walking against the wind. The wind taking on a protective roll as well. Letting them know to stay away. Inside the piece states they have no other place to go.

This is a sad piece.
A piece that rings true.
Not all children find loving parents waiting for them.

I like what you did with the form of the piece.
There was order in the lines in the beginning but as the piece progressed the piece became out of order as a way to show how dysfunctional their little lives are.

In this piece our author gives us glimpse inside the thoughts of a little oak tree. It was small and just starting out. Looking up at those oaks so much larger. Probably thinking this is such a big world I have been welcomed in. Before long the clouds form and the storm begins. Some of his family oaks get hit by lightning and fall. One protected him to help him survive. The year progresses and spring comes calling. Now our little tree can provide shelter for birds and little animals. Serving a purpose in delicate balance of nature. Soon there are more little oaks; this time from our characters seeds. Life begets life and so it goes.
Sometimes humans forget how important the trees are to our very survival.

Best part:
The song of life fills the air with its sweet music.

One could look at this another way. Lets say it could represent a look at life for a human. Starting out small, learning from those adults around and facing storms of life. All those moments help to make a person strong and dependable like an old oak tree.
Someone a friend could lean on. Someone who offers shelter and wisdom.

Our author reminds us how important laughter is in ones life. It is healthy and heals the body and the soul. Laughter is finding a reason to feel good and takes a lot less muscles to smile than to frown. Throw away the negatives and capture the positives that tend to makes a person feel better about themselves and life in general. Who among us hasn't found it easy to laugh about a child's antics. Or maybe being in the middle of a water balloon fight and not start laughing. Same with a snow ball fight. Then think of the friends to share a smile with. Laughter is comfort and takes us to a higher level. The day is brighter and our worries are lighter.

Oh those things that go bump in the night. Some children believe there are monsters under their beds. Well, in this piece a woman has never stopped believing. In fact it is having a negative impact on her life. She is in a hospital being evaluated by doctors about her sanity. A new doctor is on the case. Skeptical, naturally, but listens any way. His goal is to help her. Does she really need help? Or does she really need someone to believe her?

Good character exchange.
Story came together well.
The ending caught be a bit by surprise.
Going to check my bed from now on.

We all loose our way sometimes. Our character has done that but turns to God as we should. As one of his children; God will guide us and help us back to the right path. Feeling forgiveness is such a blessing. Communing with Him, walking with Him, finding He is never farther away than a heartbeat comforts the soul.

Our character might make a mistake and get lost again but His arms will always reach out.

Thank you for sharing this reassuring piece.

A great big thank you
That is so pretty.
Too old to have birthdays.
Too old for 39 to work any more.
Still full of spit and vinegar.
Even throw a hissy fit from time to time.

Still don't like cowboy boots cause they hurt when you get kicked.

At first there was the normal cat and mouse activity. As they grow older; they begin to slow down a bit as we humans do. The cat just lays around and watches the mouse run here and there. Not enough energy to worry; no need to hurry.
No more trial of survival but finding it easy to just get along.

Shouldn't we all do that? Just get along. Too much energy is wasted trying to find out who is in control. Peace is the answer in all situations.

Apparently this character has done something that is haunting his waking hours. The basement contains an old door that he stares at every chance he can. The memories are turning him insane. One could think it is the guilt doing that as well. The door holds the act that ended the life of a woman. He even has a trophy he clings to. In this mind he sees himself with a bat and hears screaming that isn't there.
In this twisted mind; he must feel if he keeps watch on the door nothing will surface.
Food is cooking upstairs and that seems to be the only thing to interrupt his vision of H-ll. Most certainly he will be there again tomorrow. Clinging to a past that can't be changed but is slowly changing him.

You did well getting to the characters mind.

A couple start out together and everything is magic. Time takes it's toll and they begin to drift apart. Where did the perfect go? Who started to change? Why didn't the promises last? People change and the magic wears off. So now the pain begins. The confusion is there with left unanswered questions.

Rage is the topic of this piece. We all have the capability of becoming enraged over something. One might say pushed to the limit. We must remember that nothing good will come from it for you or the one you direct it to. There is an old saying 'Give peace a chance'
This piece reminds me of that. Put away the sword of rage and give peace a chance.
Things might really turn out great and brings some happiness to you inside.

She believed in her friend.
She offered her shelter and kindness.
In return she hit on her husband and destroyed what they had.
That's not a friend but a betrayer.
Now, her whole life is turned upside down.
Her children suffer too.
All because she let her guard down and counted on truth and honor from a friend.
She will probably find it hard to trust anyone for a while.

It's sounds like a young person became disillusioned. Young people begin their adulthood with a certain amount of ideals. Something happened to break those ideals like glass. Because she believe those things were possible; she soon felt like a fool. Still, to this day, she remembers and even pictures what 'should' have been. Regret is all over this piece. Hopefully she will realize that we all fall and even fail at times but you got to keep going.

It's winter and naturally we bundle up to leave our home. Perhaps we checked the weather channel and figured it's not to bad. After a few minutes out there the cold penetrates our clothing. It's cold on our exposed skin. It is far beyond crisp when a person starts shivering. No doubt the thought must run through ones mind; I'm going back home. Or walking in the weather is for the birds!!!!!!

Thank you for a cold glimpse of nature.

This piece is about a man and the lake that brings him serenity. He brings the reader along to experience what he does. Everything is beautiful and calm. The waves of the river flow by and secretly ask him to join. To fish, whether it be keep or catch and release, is all the adventure he needs. The sound of peace surrounds him. Finding solitude the right prescription for a tired mind. Communing with nature is his time. A pleasure inside and out. What better way to reflect on life and the wonder of it all than to be in the middle of nature. Feeling the wind, smelling the dirt after a short rain is without explanation.

Thank you for a glimpse of nature.
Too bad we couldn't linger a bit longer.

A young boy gets his first bb gun. So naturally he begins shooting things. At first just objects then he moves on to birds. His parents tell him that some birds are different and prettier than the others. The ones that aren't pretty is fair game to him. Now, he is an adult and enjoys seeing the different variety of birds that visit his feeders. They all are beautiful and each important. Maturity makes one look at things differently.

A couple broke up. Sometimes there is confusion and wondering what went wrong. In this case there is an actual letter saying goodbye. Sure it hurt our character but it's better to end it than trying to figure out whether it could have been saved. The lover left, turned away and went back on promises made. Lets put the guilt where it belongs. Hopefully our character will be able to move on now that there has been a some clarity offered.

A man reflects on his past. A love now gone forever. The memories haunt him but holds on to them cause that is all he has. Just memories. How could one begin to replace the irreplaceable? Part of him is empty. The love in his heart will never leave him. Goodbye is a word he can't bring himself to say. In the back of his mind is a constant 'what if'.
This is sad
The pain comes through.
