Remembrance of carefree times
Dancing through the raindrops
For all the world to see.
Twisting within the light
Shadows all around me.

Dodge those drops, turn and spin,
Jump up on curbs and down.
A voice is heard somewhere,
I stop and look around.

A little kid I’m not
To play in puddles so,
But deep within I think
I never did quite grow.

And so with lowered eyes
I look and then I dash
To my chosen water
Where I jump and splash.

Now, you might think me old
And you may just be right.
But in my heart I know
I’m just a kid at night.
