A Rondel Prime
I’ve seen Thee in my dreams at night
and after sleep in dreaming day.
I swear I’ll ne’er tire of the sight
of Thee before me every day.

But know this, Lady, thee I’ll fight
Should e’er thou try to drift away.
I’ve seen Thee in my dreams at night
and after sleep in dreaming day.

Thine face before me, held so tight
to my heart in every way,
this thought that causes me to say
one day to Thee I shall take flight.
I’ve seen Thee in my dreams at night
