Something I wrote when I was feeling bitter towards my father.
Dark, Dark my father's eyes
I'm told I have the same
with curly hair and a wicked smile
I've even a part of his name

Through and through this endless quest
it seems I've taken after dad
Mom shakes her head, sister's hangs low
they seem to think it sad

So now I sit here
writing this nameless tune
with a drink in my hand and no sleep for days
Hey look, Daddy, just like you

I can't remember the last time
it was that I saw the sun
Just hold on for one moment
one more beer and I'll be done

Dark, Dark my father's eyes
from too many late nights
They say I've taken after him
we must be quite a sight

It's been quite some time since I
started this and I think it time you knew
That the beer's gone stale, and I've put it away
Cause I don't want to end up like you

Dark Dark my father's eyes
They say I have the same
but I know the only part of me
like him is my last name.
