A Last Stand of two love ones, fighting for survival.
For once, I think I see.
The night’s shadows cast upon the ground.
I look up to see the moon, brilliantly displayed.

I wonder what happens next.
I reach out towards the moon.
Seeing only the silhouette of my hand.

She walked up behind me and placed her hand on my shoulder.
I looked at her and nodded. The end is near, I can sense it.
One final stand for our right to live.

Together, we stand embraced.
Staring at the moon, so brilliantly displayed.
I wonder what happens next.

Rustling in the woods, it’s not far.
We hear them coming, our final stand is near.
Their feet moving quickly amongst the twigs and leaves.

I reach to my back to unsheathe my blade.
She steps up and kisses me deeply.
Together we stand; the last of our clan.

I stand at the ready, my sword in hand.
She stands nearby, her halberd at the ready.
She looks over to me and nods. It’s time.

The first wave breaks the tree line.
Hundreds of them surround us in a dizzying sea.
Our final stand is here and now! This is the end.
