A uelogy for the child that dies in each of us.

Death of a Caterpillar

A mental affliction beyond all repair
Took the life of this child here.
Now today I do not despair
For she is gone; I have no fear.

For 20 years she's been with me,
For 20 years I have known her pain.
Now I am who she longed to be
All of her loss was for my gain.

Don't honor her, she lived in grief,
All alone in pain and misery.
Now she is gone; what a relief!
She is passed and I am free!

***Note: I have recieved quite a few comments on this and I would like to elaborate. This is not meant to be interpreted as the death of the inner child (she is alive and well!). Rather it is the death of the child in each of us that stumbles through adolesence desperately trying to find her true self.***

Remember, when a caterpillar dies a butterfly is born!

"You have the freedom to be yourself, your true self, here and now, and nothing can stand in your way." ~ Richard Bach
