This is a poem I wrote shortly after 9/11.

The day was so new,
The sky was so clear,
No one had a clue,
No one even knew,
That a disaster was near,
To our nation so dear.

The towers are falling,
The people all cried,
Then they began running,
To find some place to hide,
While everyone was fearing,
For our nation so dear.

Ashes and smoke,
Now fill all the skies,
While tears of sorrow,
Are stinging our eyes,
For the hurt that has been done,
To our nation so dear.

But there is still someone,
Who has us in His care,
And He sees us right now,
And will help us repair,
All the damage that’s been done,
To our nation so dear.
