a longing for love

Shopping around town,
Looking for that perfect coat

Wish you were here,
I’d be your coat

Keep you warm,
Safe and close to me

Through the rain
And through the wind

Through the hail
And through the snow

We’d walk upon
Hills of fallen leaves

You take me wherever
You would go

To feel your body against
My lining, only to find
Pure comfort and joy

Could I be
the perfect coat?
