This poem is about someone who breaks down do to the pressures of life.
Silent Lullaby

Now I lay me down to sleep,
You soon will know what all I keep,
Away from you and everyone,
From silver moon to golden sun.

My loneliness has taken me,
Away from happiness and glee,
That used to fill me everyday,
It can't get in, there's just no way.

My aching heart can't take rejection,
My average being won't near perfection,
The standards for me are set so high,
It takes a lot to just get by.

I can't take it anymore,
My broken, tattered, soul is sore,
I have no will to subsist,
After all I won't be missed.

There is a book above my bed,
Of all the things I wish I'd said,
I'm sorry I must leave you now,
I want to live, I do, but how?

If I should die before I wake,
This was how my soul did break,
For every tear fallen from my eye,
This is their silent lullaby.
