Poem for class about the loss of innocence
Candle’s flame blown out
Night to cover the crime
Denying the shadowy lies spoken
The knight who broke her halo,
She was naïvely believing in vain
Clichés, told in childhood stories
A necessary lesson learned
All knights are not the same
Riding, spearing, killing dreams
The glow has faded from her
In this darkened room
And blood is all that remains
