The message we want desperately to send to a friend when times are rough.
Embers scatter and the storm settles in,
The morn has ultimately concluded and dusk begins.
Pink stretches across a cloudless sky
And disappearing is the presence of cosmic butterflies.
Unveiling its overbearing wrath, rain falls from space
And it shadows the darkened memory of a familiar face.
Reaching out desperately, I search for a single ounce of sympathy.
Sincerity is all that I've had to give to you.
You're so distant--I'm pleading for you to hand out an inch of mercy.
Stars appear, but their shine dims as a vindictive moon overtakes their glisten.
Knees blistered and bloody, I've craved, burdened, for us to clean the slate,
And if it helps, coincidently, I'd be more than fervent to grasp the blame.
Our path halts at a daunting crossroad and I'm petrified beyond belief.
If the plane goes down and the precipitation ends here,
Send in reinforcements to save this broken road with remorse and relief.
You see, I'm lost in translation; the language is apparent, but the message isn't coming in clear.
I see you, my friend, but something inside dies because you're not really here.
Stumbled, I'm tumbling in to empty depths of black seas
And if you've got a spare hand, you're more than welcome to rescue me.
Despairing and dejected, I can feel that I’m losing this fight.
Eyelids slowly shut everlastingly as I hold on to the youth of the night.
