A man drowns in sorrow over the loss of his wife.
An Acrostic poem using the title as the prompt.

A Familiar Sweet Perfume

As my memory drowns in sorrow,

Fissure's of light shine through the waves
Around my head the waters shed
My heart's been torn asunder.
Ill winds blow tonight.
Laughing at my shattered dreams.
I reach for comfort from the cold,
All I touch is emptiness.
Reality, somehow can't compete.

Since my love is lost to me.
Without you here inside my heart.
Each breath I take...takes in the sea.
Escape from this hell is what I wish,
To caress you one last time.

Part the strands from over your eyes.
Explore the essence lingering there.
Robust and sweet, the scent of love,
Fuels my desire to live.
Until no longer I feel the pain,
My troth to thee, I'll give.
Enshrined in my heart, forever...you'll live.
